On March 2 we will hold a Preparedness Seminar at the Church of the Springs at 230 Sports Park Road, Dripping Springs. We will begin at 10 am and plan to end the seminar around 1 pm. We have prepared this program with the hope of offering ideas for you to create a plan for developing the basic skills and resources required for self-reliance in normal times, catastrophic times (job loss, sickness, etc.) and emergency situations (fire, weather, etc.). This is the planned agenda:
Maria Acosta, founder of the CenTex 9/12 Project, is working toward her Master Food Preserver certification. She will lead a discussion about basic food and water storage, food preservation, and 72 hr. emergency packs.
Patti Widdowson, Independent Shelf Reliance Consultant, will talk about prepackaged dehydrated food storage items.
John Scott, President of Hays County Master Gardener Association, will lead a Q&A session about gardening.
Bill and Teresa Klepac will talk about sprouting and wicking buckets.
Hays County Constable Ron Hood will talk about personal safety.
The North Hays County Fire/Rescue will talk about fire safety and the CERT/CPR program.
Since our meeting spans the lunch hour, please bring snacks and/or a bag lunch.
We look forward to seeing you Saturday!
